Even though the snow has finally stopped falling here in New York City, NewLeaders have already been quite busy this year! So far, we have seen over 150 of our members as we hosted 2 educational events (Stem Cell 101 in January and Issues in Pediatric Prematurity in February), logged over 20 volunteer hours with Neural Connections & Children’s Craft Days, hosted a CPR Course, and had an improv night out on the town with the incredibly talented cast of Freestyle Love Supreme. Volunteer Events
Ongoing – Neural Connections at NYP/Weill Cornell
On Sundays from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm and Wednesday from 6:00 – 10:00 pm,
you can find NewLeaders busy helping the patients and staff of the Department of Neurological Surgery with their day to day patient care and “to do” lists. Each volunteer gives 4 hours approximately once per month, as we rotate our team of
9 volunteers throughout the calendar year. Make friends, help patients have a better stay and make an impact on someone who is overcoming a life-altering challenge they likely never expected to face. To get started as a NewLeaders volunteer,

Friends for Kids Craft Days at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital – NYP/Columbia
Every other month, NewLeaders hosts a 2 hour craft day in the lobby of the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital at the NYP/Columbia campus. During these craft days, pediatric inpatients and their siblings join NewLeaders volunteers as we build mitten wreaths, love bugs, masks, kooky sunglasses and even made Olympic gold medals! All the crafts are fit for the season and smiles are guaranteed!
