June 2007

Hello NewLeaders. Before everyone takes off for the summer, we wanted to
update you on some upcoming activities.

Mark Your Calendars: Upcoming Social Events
We are scheduling an outdoor NewLeaders Happy Hour after work on Wednesday, July 18th at Rare View (303 Lexington Avenue@ 37th Street)
from 6:30 to 8:30. Be on the lookout for an email with additional details and
plan on meeting us to enjoy some summer cocktails.

While your calendar is out, save the date on Thursday, September 27th for our fall fundraiser at the Yancey Richardson Gallery. As always, we encourage you
to peruse your little black book and invite your friends. We are also looking for event committee members and sponsors to help ensure another successful event. Email us to add people to the invitation list, join the committee or for
more information on sponsorships.

Volunteer at NYP
On the heels of two successful weekend volunteer events at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in March and June, NewLeaders is launching its “Adopt an ER” initiative and committing to a volunteer slot in the Emergency Department on Tuesdays from 7 to10 p.m. We are hosting a two-part Facilitated Volunteer Screening and Orientation on June 25th and 27th to get the ball rolling.  Other weekend pediatric events are also in plan. For more information or to sign up,
send us an email.

Education Events
Last April, Steering Committee member Alissa Eig hosted a fantastic education event featuring Dr. Tony LaBruna titled “Everything you wanted to know about nips, tucks and injectables…but were too embarrassed to ask”. Due to the event’s success, we are planning two more events in the fall as part of our 2007 Education Series: one on fertility featuring Dr. Pak Chung, hosted by Steering Committee member Susie Block on September 20th, and one on a Pediatrics topic for new parents. More details to come.
